Anemia

Anemia is when the body does not have enough oxygen being delivered to the tissues due to a problem in the bloodstream.  This is usually because there are not enough red blood cells in the body or if the red blood cells are not healthy enough to carry oxygen.

🏥

Why is anemia important?

Anemia is important because if a patient is not able to get oxygen to all the cells of the body they will not be able to survive.  An anemic patient needs to be seen immediately to find the underlying cause of their disease to give them the treatments they need to get healthy.
